Ranch Racing is one of the fastest growing equine sports in America. Patterned after Craig Cameron’s Extreme Cowboy Race, riders and their horses maneuver thru obstacles both natural and man made. Contestants are judged on how willing and smoothly their horse takes a particular obstacle. They are also timed.
Here at the Top Rail Facility, we offer 2 courses and a wooded trail course. Competitors are divided into Novice, Junior and Open divisions. We often have 4-H days and open the course to all boarders.
All the horses trained at Top Rail are accomplished Ranch Racers by the end of their stay. Horses will easily cross a teeter-totter, or go over a wooden bridge, or cross a pond. These are just a few of the things they will learn. Horse and rider will gain confidence and trust in one another tackling this fun and exciting activity.
Arkansas has at least 5 courses and competitions are held March thru December.
